Public Speaking and Debating

Bankstown North Public School has had some fantastic public speakers going through to district finals over the past few years. Each year, we participate in the Multicultural Public Speaking Competition which is all about how multiculturalism affects our world. This competition is open to upper primary students and students are encouraged to deliver speeches that inform the audience of world issues.

As well, Bankstown North Public School competes in the Metropolitan South Operational Directorate Public Speaking Competition (formerly called the Ultimo Public Speaking Competition) which is open to students from Kindergarten to Year 6.  This competition allows students to think more creatively and choose their own topics. Public speaking is a life long skill that teachers at our school aim to develop in all students.

The school also competes in the Bankstown District Debating Competition. Being involved in the competition is a wonderful learning experience for our students.
